VBCCM has established a clear Crisis and Emergency Response Policy to address various urgent situations quickly and safely, including:
- Medical emergencies (e.g., injury or sudden illness)
- Mental health crises (e.g., severe anxiety or self-harm thoughts)
- Natural disasters (e.g., fire, earthquake, or flooding)
- Acts of violence or safety threats (e.g., physical fights or armed threats)
- Public health incidents (e.g., infectious disease outbreaks)
This policy applies to all on-campus locations, College-hosted events, and clinical practicum settings.习。
Implementation and Staff Training
All VBCCM staff receive training on emergency procedures upon onboarding, and students are introduced to the emergency guidelines at the start of the academic term. Emergency contact information and procedures, in both English and Chinese, are posted in prominent locations across campus. The policy is reviewed and updated annually.
Support Services
In the event of an emergency, Student Services will provide:
- First aid, ambulance services, or referral to counselling
- Assistance in contacting family members or emergency contacts
- Flexible arrangements for coursework or attendance, if necessary
- Ongoing emotional and administrative support
VBCCM Emergency Response Procedures
These procedures are published in the Student Handbook, posted on campus notice boards, and available on online platforms.
