Academics & Development
Program Progression Assistance
Students can meet with teachers or student support staff to talk about their academic progress, course choices, and study strategies.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Staff can help students apply for external funding such as government loans, grants, and private scholarships. Assistance is available through the Student Services Department.
Learning Support Services
VBCCM teachers are available for course guidance during scheduled times. Group tutoring or referrals can also be arranged when needed.
Pan-Canadian Examinations
To become a licensed TCM practitioner, acupuncturist, or Chinese herbalist, you must pass the Pan-Canadian exams and meet other requirements set by the provincial regulatory authority. These exams include entry-level tests for TCM practitioners, acupuncturists, and herbalists.
PGWP Eligibility Disclaimer

Educational Credential Assessment
If you completed your TCM education outside Canada, you need to provide an academic credential assessment from a recognized organization (e.g., ICES – BCIT or WES). The report must be sent directly to the CCHPBC, together with a copy of your transcripts.

Housing Assistance
VBCCM does not offer on-campus housing, but staff can help students find local apartments, short-term rentals, or homestays. Students are encouraged to review the Residential Tenancy Act of British Columbia to learn about their rental rights.

VBCCM helps students adjust to life in British Columbia, offering guidance on public transit, bank accounts, mobile plans, and community resources. We also share information about local volunteer opportunities and cultural events.

Health, Mental Health, and Addiction Resources
The Student Services Department offers support and resources for mental health and well-being. Students can get information about local services and referral help. VBCCM also provides guidance on obtaining free naloxone kits, which are available at nearby pharmacies.
Orientation
At the beginning of each semester, a welcome orientation is held to cover academic expectations, school policies, important student resources, and tips for living in British Columbia.
