1. Written Notice
Students who withdraw from a program must submit a written Notice of Withdrawal to Vancouver Beijing College of Chinese Medicine (VBCCM).
VBCCM will provide a written Notice of Dismissal to a student who is dismissed from a program.
2. Full Refunds
VBCCM will refund all tuition and related fees paid by or on behalf of a student (except application fees where permitted by law) in circumstances required by applicable legislation, including but not limited to the following:
- The student was enrolled without meeting the admission requirements of the program.
- VBCCM fails to provide a required clinical practicum, practicum placement, work experience, or other required training component of the program.
- An international student meets the refund requirements relating to a Study Permit refusal.
- The student submits a written Notice of Withdrawal within seven (7) days of signing the Student Enrolment Contract and before the program start date.
- The Registrar orders VBCCM to refund tuition and related fees.
- Any other circumstance in which a full refund is required by applicable legislation.
3. Partial Refunds
3.1 Withdrawal or Dismissal Within Seven Days After Program Start
If a student withdraws or is dismissed within seven (7) days after the program start date, VBCCM may retain up to 10% of the tuition paid or payable, to a maximum of $1,000.
3.2 Program Completion of 10% or Less
If a student withdraws or is dismissed when no more than 10% of the program hours have been completed or provided, VBCCM may retain or recover up to 10% of the tuition paid or payable.
3.3 Program Completion of More Than 10% but Not More Than 30%
If a student withdraws or is dismissed when more than 10% but not more than 30% of the program hours have been completed or provided, VBCCM may retain or recover up to 30% of the tuition paid or payable.
3.4 Program Completion of More Than 30% but Not More Than 50%
If a student withdraws or is dismissed when more than 30% but not more than 50% of the program hours have been completed or provided, VBCCM may retain or recover up to 50% of the tuition paid or payable.
3.5 No Attendance During the First 30% of Program Hours
If a student does not attend any of the first 30% of the program hours, VBCCM may retain up to 50% of the tuition paid.
3.6 Program Completion Exceeding 50%
If a student withdraws or is dismissed after more than 50% of the program hours have been completed or provided, no tuition refund is required.
4. Refund of Course Material Fees
Course material fees will be refunded if:
- the student withdraws from the program;
- the student is dismissed from the program; or
- the student does not attend any of the first 30% of the program hours;
and the course materials have not been provided to the student.
5. Refund Processing
VBCCM will process refunds within thirty (30) days of the occurrence of the applicable refund event, including:
- receipt of a Notice of Withdrawal;
- issuance of a Notice of Dismissal;
- receipt of proof of Study Permit refusal;
- an order of refund issued by the Registrar; or
- any other circumstance requiring a refund under applicable legislation.
Refunds will be paid to the individual or organization that originally paid the tuition or related fees.
